The Four Pillars to a Good Life

The first pillar to a good life I will be sharing today is health. According to Google, health is the state of being free from illness or injury, simple as that. Well then, you may ask yourself, how does this contribute to a good life. First off, there are two states of health which are, physical health and mental health. Physical health is composed of nutrition and exercise. To what extent is the amount of junk food you take into your body? A large extent? Well, that isn't good. You want to live that good life, regulate or even stop those fatty foods you eat, start taking plenty of water. Water contributes a lot to your body and even determines how you spend your day. I did not study much about this but all I know, eating healthy is the first big step to living well. When was the last time you ran around the neighborhood for a jog or went to the gym? Exercise is next up. If you eat healthily and exercise regularly, you are past the first phase of good health. Do you often read and if you do, what kind of books do you read? Research shows that the kind of books we read contributes greatly to our character. If you read self-help books, you are bound to be challenged each and every day to better yourself. I speak out of experience.

Wealth. If I mention this, you might think of it as the usual having lots of property and money under your name. Well yes, it is but there are other characteristics of being wealthy. Having manners. Have you ever met an arrogant rich person? If you have, what was your attitude towards them? Pitiful, annoyed. I believe whatever you felt wasn't at all pleasant and this even clouded the fact that the person was rich. Well, if you become rich and have no manners, people will have the same perspective when they meet you. Another attribute to wealth is the ability and need to help others. What is the use of all those riches if you can't even stop helping out others once in a while? I am not talking about earning money and giving it all out but in some cases, you find some individuals are well-off yet members of their own family are suffering? I know a famous YouTube influencer who has gained a name out of helping others. His career, his success are owed to going out every day and helping an individual or society. When he is interviewed and asked if he ever plans on giving out his money, he is like he wants to give it all out, however much he can. He is not the type to spend on buying many cars or houses. Learn a thing or two from him.

Love. How can you live a good life without love? And I am not talking about the soapy romance on TV or the teenage high school crushing. You can't tell me that you can love a stranger you met at school yet you don't love your own parents or siblings. And you might think yes, I do love them but that is emotional. The love I mean is the respect you show them, the care. Do you care to know how their day went, do you wish them a good morning when you rise up, do you take the advice they give you. A wise man once told me that if you can't stop to ask your own mother how her day went, you will never do it for the girlfriend or wife you get when you leave your home.

Happiness. Of course, being happy can't miss. But, did you know that though it is such an obvious pillar, not everyone is as happy as you would expect them? The World Health Organization carried out research and found out that 300 million people are diagnosed with depression. How sad. I mean, you might say how can you have all the above-mentioned attributes and not be happy? My friend, there are many rich people out there who carry more burdens on their heads and fail to appreciate or be happy for what they have. If you're happy, you'll be appreciative. If you're appreciative, then trust me, nothing in this world can hinder you from having the best and most pleasant life.
