Time to assume responsibility

Have you ever considered who you would have grown into had you been born into different circumstances? For instance, had you grown up in another family or that kind of thing? Do you think it would have affected how you perceive life? On my side, I think it would have. I always think that if I had experienced a life of hardships or gone through a complex background, it would have given me a different approach to life. I am sure if you have thought about it sometime in the past, you would have the same opinion. Most people who grow up to make it in life tend to have faced some hardship in their past (that is, according to what I know).
Lucky for me, I never went through such. However, this comfort (I will call it that) tends to make me have a poor way of approaching life. Let's say I don't approach life as aggressively as I should. A wise man the other day posed a question, 'If you've gotten a chance to live and grow up in a life full of opportunities, why not use this as a stepping stone to get you to the top of the pyramid? Why wait for that experience that will make you think twice about how you live your life?'
Now today, I want to pose the same question to you. We live our lives most of the time with a mindset that one day, just one day, I am going to wake up and start getting serious. The time is still early to assume responsibility, we tell ourselves. My dear friend, there has never been a better time to take responsibility than now. Our folks have worked and attained their wealth. Their wealth, I repeat. This is also another lie that we tell ourselves. You feel that you will take up from there once they're gone (God forbid).
Unfortunately, this is not how the world is currently operating. Those are the gone times. I don't necessarily mean that creating wealth is tiring yourself with business or the sort like everyone thinks these days. It also means equipping yourself with the knowledge and skills for it is what the world needs. This also requires finding out what is truly needed because not all the skills are as valid as they used to be. As for me and my writing, I am pretty sure no robot will come close to sharing the same knowledge like me. So I can rest assured.
In conclusion, assuming responsibility involves a lot, so it is better to start it young. I also add that not everyone born into hardships gets to take the right path in life, as previously mentioned. It all comes to the mindset as well. So, approaching life involves external factors and internal motivation, to be more specific. That's a topic for another day, though.
